Photographer portofolio

In this tutorial I will show you how to create a grunge layout for a photographer.
I will use some of the vectors we have already released in the past days, and I will show you how to manipulate them to create a nice looking layout. This layout can be used also for a portfolio layout.

You will see that some little piece of vector flowers will transform our end result into a nice looking layout

As usual I will start with a new document with the following size: 960 x900 pixels.

Preparation

Before getting started take a look at the vector we’ll be using.
Ornamental Vector Flowwers
And a very nice grunge texture: Download Grunge texture

I will use also an image with a piece of paper. ( included inside the psd layout as a separate layer )

Select Gradient Tool, and add a gradient with the following colors:

If you don’t know already we offer for our VIP members a huge set of Photoshop Gradients with over 27.000 gradients. You will find very easy one of the best color combination. It will save you a lot of time.
Now please download the following Grunge Texture

Place it on your layout on a new separate layer and change the blending mode for this layer to Luminosity, and you can also lower the opacity to 20 %

I will provide you with a nice piece of paper for this layout. This is made from a shape, and I will use the warp tool to give it a nice paper. Then I will draw a with a smooth Brush Tool, to add some shadows. I will not explain more how this piece of paper was made. You can find already a lot of paper likes this free on some free stock photography sites

On the top of the website, I will create a round shape with Rounded Rectangle Tool

42

Then I will create another one with a black color. I will rotate it a little to the right

52

Then I will change the opacity value to 20 %, and with Horizontal Type Tool I will add some text. I will use the following font: Bradley Hand ITC

62

Now I will download the Ornamental vector set we have released a few days ago for VIP members
Open the .eps file in adobe Photoshop, and cut the 2 flower ornaments from the right side

72

You can use Rectangular Marquee Tool to make a selection around each flower, then press on CTRL+J to create a new layer via cut. Drag the new layer on your layout, and place the vector drawing like in the following image

82

Select all these layers in your layers palette, then press on CTRL+ E to merge them into a single layer. The next step is to load the selection for this layer with vector flowers

92

You can see that a selection line will be visible on your layout

102

Select Brush Tool, and with different colors paint inside the selection (you can use a soft round brush)

114

Press on CTRL + D to deselect and over this vector art place a stock image with a photo camera

121

I will work on the left side of the header. With Rectangle Tool I will add some simple shapes, and with horizontal Type too I will write some text

131

I will try to create some Polaroid images. For this we need other black shapes

141

You can add yourself any image you want inside the Polaroid photos.
On the bottom of this layout I will add some text, and the same vector drawing I have used a few steps above

151

To create a nice effect I will use Rectangle Tool to create a vertical long shape at the bottom of the layout

161

This is my final layout. I hope you like it

172

You can download the PSD file and play with it as much as you want. Before you will download you need to apply for a VIP membership. For 49$ you can download all our PSD layouts for each tutorial ( including this one ) + our huge collection with premium downloads.
